Ronda Rousey On Reports She's Leaving WWE

– We reported earlier that Ronda Rousey could be getting ready to depart WWE after WrestleMania 35. In the past, Rousey has mentioned that she wants to start a family and WWE is aware that the current RAW Women’s Champion could finish with the promotion at or shortly after WrestleMania 35. There are some reports that Rousey informed WWE in November that she would be leaving. ESPN spoke to Rousey about the recent rumors and she did not deny them.

“I honestly don’t know why [anyone] feels like [they’re] an authority to speak on the plans for my uterus,” said Rousey. “If I responded every single time the world speculated what I was doing with my womb I would not have a free moment in the day. I really don’t feel like I should have to respond to that kind of thing. “It’s my vagina, my life, keep the speculations to yourself. Leave me and my reproductive organs alone.”

There is always the possibility that Rousey could leave WWE to start a family and later return on a limited scheduled like John Cena and Brock Lesnar.

After Sunday’s Royal Rumble, we should have a better idea of where WWE is heading with their marquee matches. Nothing is set in stone for a main event, but a women’s match involving Rousey and/or Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair has been rumored for months.

– WWE talent should see an increase in their pay later this year according to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter. These new type of deals will see superstars get whatever dollar amount they agreed to in their contracts and then extra cash in the form of bonuses or a percentage of merchandise sales.

With SmackDown moving to FOX later this year and NBC renewing their deal with WWE, the company has a flux of money coming in. The report continued that WWE is now worried more about making money from TV deals compared to pay per views or live events like in the past.
