NXT Spoilers For January 9-23, Rumored Takeover Phoenix Card

Several episode of NXT were taped from Full Sail University, which will be the final shows before Takeover Phoenix. Below are spoilers from the TV tapings.

January 9:
– Johnny Gargano starts the show and is trying to act like a face. He wants to make 2019 better than 2018 and capture the NXT Championship. He calls the incident inside the steel cage with Aleister Black and Tommaso Ciampa was a mistake. He continues that he is not friends with former DIY partner Ciampa. Gargano now has his eyes on NXT North American Champion Ricochet. Out comes Ricochet, who offers Gargano a title shot. Ciampa is out and Gargano tells him he has no business with what is going on. Black appears on the screen and talks about regaining his title at Takeover Phoenix. The lights go out and Black is in the ring. He goes after Ciampa. Gargano takes out a distracted Ricochet. Gargano and Ciampa leave separately to end the segment.

– Bianca Belair defeated Nikki Cross. After the match, Nikki played to the crowd and they wished her well as she heads to the main roster.

– Marcel Barthel & Fabian Aichner defeated Hector Kunsman & Stanley Watts.

– Adam Cole defeated EC3. Undisputed Era attack EC3 after the match. This could very well be EC3’s final NXT appearance. The War Raiders make the save for EC3.

January 16:
– The Street Profits defeated The Metro Brothers. Post-match, The Forgotten Sons attacked The Street Profits.

– Bianca Belair is out and brags about getting rid of Cross from NXT. She now wants a title shot against Shayna Baszler. Out comes Baszler, Marina Shafir and Jessamyn Duke. Some words from Baszler before Belair slaps the champion. Belair gets out of the ring before all three women go on the attack.

– Dominik Dijakovic defeated Adrian Jaoude.

– Johnny Gargano defeated Humberto Carrillo.

– Kassius Ohno defeated Keith Lee. Ohno used a low blow to score the win. After the match, Ohno kept the attack going before Matt Riddle made the save.

January 23:
– The Velveteen Dream returns for the first time since losing his NXT Championship match. He wants to win the NXT North American Championship in 2019. Adam Cole and Bobby Fish come out to discuss their goal of winning all the titles this year. Dream escapes a beating.

– Lacey Evans defeated Xia Li.

– Oney Lorcan & Danny Burch defeated Marcel Barthel & Fabian Aichner.

– Io Shirai & Kairi Sane defeated Amber Nova and Tanea Brooks (former Impact Wrestler Rebel).

– The Velveteen Dream defeated Bobby Fish.

– Ricochet is out and talks about Gargano taking a cheap shot last time they met inside the ring. Gargano comes out and tries to attack Ricochet. Ciampa sneaks in there and goes after Ricochet. Black evens out the odds, but it does not help. Gargano and Ciampa meet on the ramp and are ready to shake hands. But, Candice LeRae stops them and reminds her husband not to trust Ciampa.

NXT Women’s Championship Match: Bianca Belair vs. Shayna Baszler

NXT North American Championship Match: Johnny Gargano vs. Ricochet

NXT Tag Team Championship Match: The War Raiders vs. Roderick Strong & Kyle O’Reilly

Adam Cole vs. The Velveteen Dream and/or Matt Riddle vs. Kassius Ohno looks to also be in the works.
