– There could be a new stable on the horizon for SmackDown. According to PWInsider, there is talk of putting Rey Mysterio, Sin Cara and Andrade together as a babyface group.
Since returning to WWE full time back in the fall, Mysterio has worked several matches with Andrade. Those bouts have been early candidates for match of the year and that continued on Tuesday’s SmackDown when they fought in two out of three falls match that did not see a winner.
If WWE does move forward with the stable, Andrade would have to turn face; which is something WWE is discussed. There remains talk of giving Andrade a major push on TV and he could be made the next top star for the Mexican market as Mysterio works a limited schedule and with all his past injuries, his time in WWE is winding down. As for Zelina Vega, WWE likes her being paired with Andrade; so, she might also turn face and join the group.
Sin Cara has been out of action for months due to injury, but he has been spotted at the WWE Performance Center getting ready for a return.
– As noted, Abyss and Sonjay Dutt were granted their release from Impact Wrestling and are headed to WWE. PWInsider stated that both will not be working as wrestlers; rather, serving as producers for RAW or SmackDown. WWE is currently in the process of hiring more producers as they continue to expand.
Abyss was with Impact Wrestling since the beginning and was inducted into their Hall of Fame this past October. Dutt has worked on and off with Impact Wrestling for over a decade. Both performed in Impact Wrestling as wrestlers and later in backstage roles. Their departures did not anger Impact Wrestling officials as they want their talent to be happy and not feel held back by the promotion. No word on when Abyss or Dutt will officially start with WWE.
