Meghan McCain Confronts ‘View’ Cohosts After Unfair Painting of Republicans

As one of two conservative panelists on the ABC talk show “The View,” Meghan McCain often finds herself being outnumbered by her liberal anti-Trump cohosts. Despite this, however, McCain has made it her mission to not allow her fellow hosts to spew their hateful liberal propaganda unchallenged.

Things got tense on “The View” once again on Tuesday when Sunny Hostin suggested that Republicans who support Donald Trump’s border wall are inherently racist. McCain, however, was not having any of it.

“Will Republicans now step up to the plate with Donald Trump?” Hostin began, according to Mediaite. “Because he has been using, I think, the border wall as sort of this dog whistle for racism. The government is still shut down. And I think it’s all about ‘Let’s not let all these brown people in.’”

Cohost Abby Huntsman, a conservative herself, responded by asking Hostin if she believes that the 42 percent of Americans who are in favor of the wall are racist. To this, Hostin replied, “I don’t know.”

That’s when McCain felt that she could stay silent no longer:

“I think this is the problem with identity politics in the country. When you broad-stroke everyone. All black people think one thing. All Hispanics think one thing. All Republicans think one thing. That’s how we got ourselves into this mess. Please don’t paint me, just because I’m for border security, that I somehow am racist in some way or another — ’cause I don’t think that’s fair.”

“Do you think 42 percent of Americans are racist?!” McCain then asked Hostin directly, to which she again responded that she did not know.

“You did just call 42 percent of the country — there was an implication that they could be racist,” McCain fired back. “That is something that is going to make Abby and I uncomfortable.”

Chaos quickly descended on the panel after this comment, with all of the women talking over each other at once. Finally, Joy Behar chimed in by saying, “Check the platform,” causing McCain to exclaim, “I am John McCain’s daughter! I am not someone who sits here and is okay with racism!”

The relevant portion begins around the 5:10 mark in the video below:

It’s sad that McCain is forced to deal with these hateful liberal nitwits every day. McCain is clearly the voice of reason on this panel, as she is standing with the millions of Americans who are sick and tired of identity politics being forced on us by liberals.

McCain is also right about the dangers of “painting people with broad strokes,” because all liberals are accomplishing by doing this is alienating moderates who might consider voting their way in 2020. When Democrats like Hostin and Behar demonize all Republicans as racist bigots, they don’t realize that they are actually helping Trump’s chances of being reelected because they are alienating a base of people who would possibly be open to voting against him.

If they keep this up, the liberal hosts of “The View” may just find themselves inadvertently becoming Trump’s secret weapon in 2020!

James Conrad’s passion for politics is only overshadowed by his longstanding interest in Hollywood. His unique perspective as a gay conservative fuels him to challenge celebrity views and those who think they have a right to tell anyone how to think or vote. James proudly wields his minority point of view to combat identity politics and cut through his typecast. Fun fact: James’ guilty pleasure is the British royal family.
