Jack Swagger's MMA Debut (Videos)

– The final images fans at home saw from NXT’s Takeover Phoenix was Tommaso Ciampa and Johnny Gargano standing atop the ramp with their respective titles in hand. Then the live crowd got some extra action as Velveteen Dream left his seat to confront to the two. That was followed by Adam Cole coming from the back. Aleister Black and Ricochet would join in, leading to a brawl that spilled into the backstage area. Triple H and officials broke up everything up; with the faces then posing in the ring to conclude Takeover Phoenix.

Considering the angle was shot and featured on social media by WWE run accounts, this could lead to a major six person tag team match and allow three separate storylines to also continue. Here’s video of the brawl.

Bellator 214 saw another former WWE superstar try their hands at  MMA. In his MMA debut, Jake Hager (Jack Swagger to WWE fans) submitted J.W. Kiser via arm-triangle choke in the first round. Kiser connected with a shot early to the face before Hager put him on the ground. Then Hager easily got the advantage during the wrestling part before slapping on the choke.

Before the fight, R-Truth dropped a rap as Hager headed down the ramp. After the fight, Hager said he planned to stick around for another decade and received congratulations from the MMA and WWE communities.

Hager left WWE in March 2017 and has worked some Indy shows and also Lucha Underground. It seems that pro wrestling is now hold as Hager looks to make a name for himself in Bellator.
