America is in mourning right now after former President George H.W. Bush passed away last Friday at the age of 94. We would have hoped that in the wake of his death, liberals in Hollywood, like Stephen Colbert, could take a break from their constant bashing of Donald Trump to pay tribute to 41.

Unfortunately, the left ended up not being able to put their anti-Trump hysteria aside for even a second after Bush’s death.

Breitbart reported that while paying tribute to Bush on Monday night, “Late Show” host Stephen Colbert could not resist taking jabs at President Trump. As he showed video footage of Bush being rescued in 1944 after his plane was shot down during World War II, Colbert shifted to mocking the current president.

“The closest our current president has gotten to a submarine is a five-dollar footlong,” Colbert said. “Of course almost 50 years later, Bush did get back at Japan when he threw up in the lap of the Japanese prime minister.”

Colbert isn’t the only television personality who used their supposed tributes to Bush to attack the current president. Earlier in the day on Monday, “The View” co-host Joy Behar had a full meltdown when her co-host Meghan McCain chastised her for bringing up Trump as they tried to honor Bush. It’s absolutely despicable that these liberals could not put their hatred of Trump aside for even a moment to honor a fallen president. Colbert, Behar, and their fellow liberals spend virtually all of their time attacking Trump every day, so one would think that they could find a way to stop talking about him long enough to pay tribute to Bush. This just goes to show how far the anti-Trump hysteria has really gone in this country, as it has become nothing short of an obsession for liberals.

Trump outclasses the left with reaction to Bush death

The behavior that Colbert and Behar exhibited is in stark contrast to how Trump himself behaved in the wake of Bush’s death. Former Florida Governor Jeb Bush, who was once a political rival of Trump, recounted how the current president called him personally after the death of his father. Jeb said that Trump “couldn’t have been nicer” and was “really gracious” to his entire family. Perhaps Colbert and Behar would do well to take a page out of Trump’s book and learn to show some class.
