Double champ Daniel Cormier wasn’t going to fight until Brock Lesnar was ready, but the UFC needed some kind of special main event for UFC 230, and apparently the money was real good if he’d fight Derrick Lewis.

(And also, it’s Derrick Lewis – other than a punch, how dangerous is Lewis to Cormier?)

So Cormier showed up for work last night and did what everyone expected him to: He dominated the massive heavyweight.

It was all about Cormier’s world-class wrestling, which repeated put Lewis on his back and stymied that big punching game.

To his credit, Lewis survived the first round. But when Round 2 came around, and Lewis tried to scramble up from a takedown, Cormier said, “Gimme dat neck” and that’s exactly what happened.

With the win, Cormier proves… proves what? That he likes easy paychecks? Because we already knew Cormier was great.
