Backstage News On Daniel Bryan’s Heel Turn & Title Win, Nia Jax Has Heat

– The final SmackDown before Survivor Series was chaotic and dramatically changed the landscape for Sunday’s pay per view. As seen, Daniel Bryan turned heel and won the WWE Championship from AJ Styles and Becky Lynch is injured and thus unable to compete. Charlotte Flair will now take on RAW Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey and Bryan meets Universal Champion Brock Lesnar.

Regarding Bryan turning heel, it was something the superstar has been pushing towards. As for the timing, Dave Meltzer commented on the Wrestling Observer Radio how Vince McMahon knew for weeks Bryan vs. Lesnar would take place at Survivor Series. The decision was made very recently to have the title change hands on Tuesday’s show. Perhaps, the title change was set for Crown Jewel but that would have changed once Bryan refused to participate.

It will be interesting how WWE handles Bryan vs. Lesnar as both are heels. It certainly is one of those dream matches fans were only able to talk about a year ago.

– While accidents do happen, there is heat on Nia Jax for giving Becky Lynch a broken nose and concussion during Monday’s RAW. Behind the scenes, Nia is seen as careless inside the ring. The latest incident could play a role in Nia’s future title shot against Rousey.

Becky has really embraced the heel persona and never been so popular. She ambushed Rousey on RAW and then led an invasion of the SmackDown females. While the RAW side get the better of the angle, Becky still looked liked fire as she posed within the crowd as blood covered her face.

There is no word on when Becky will return to action. A broken nose could have kept Becky in the match on Sunday, but WWE does not play around with concussions. The worst case would be Becky has to vacate the title. If there is any plus in this mess, fans get to see Charlotte vs. Rousey much earlier than originally planned.
