the first man neil armstrong

The First Man starring Ryan Gosling and Claire Foy tells the iconic story of Neil Armstrong landing on the moon back in 1969. Millions of Americans watched him land live on television, and they never forgot the moment that he planted the American flag on the moon.

In the months leading up to the film’s release last Friday, Americans everywhere were looking forward to seeing this powerful moment of American history being brought to life on camera. That’s why it came as a shocking disappointment that the movie’s producers had submitted to anti-American political correctness by not including the scene in the film at all. Now, however, this decision has come back to bite those who made The First Man in a huge way.

Fox News reported that The First Man came in at a disappointing third in the box office over its opening weekend behind Venom and A Star Is Born, both of which had already been out for a week. This came days after President Donald Trump blasted the film for not including a scene showing the American flag being planted.

“It’s unfortunate,” Trump said. “It’s almost like they’re embarrassed at the achievement coming from America, I think it’s a terrible thing. When you think of Neil Armstrong and when you think of the landing on the moon, you think about the American flag. For that reason, I wouldn’t even want to watch the movie.”

Gosling, who starred in the film, tried to defend the decision by claiming that the moon landing was more of a “human achievement” than an American achievement.

“I think this was widely regarded in the end as a human achievement [and] that’s how we chose to view it,” Gosling said. “I also think Neil was extremely humble, as were many of these astronauts, and time and time again he deferred the focus from himself to the 400,000 people who made the mission possible.”

However, it’s clear that most Americans agree with the president on this one. Much like how many Americans stopped watching NFL games when the league began tolerating protests during the national anthem, they decided to also stay home rather than buy tickets to a movie that tries to erase one of our country’s biggest achievements of the 20th century.

When will the liberals of Hollywood learn that disrespecting our country and our flag for the sake of political correctness will not pay off for them in the long run?
