Just when it seemed like things were starting to fall into place for the UFC, the injury bug hits.

According to multiple reports, including ESPN’s Brett Okamoto, Dustin Poirier has suffered an injury and will not be able to fight Nate Diaz at UFC 230 in New York City next month.

The bout, which was once rumored as the headline act, was shifted to the co-main event role when officials signed Daniel Cormier vs. Derrick Lewis for Cormier’s heavyweight title.

It remains unknown at this time if Diaz will remain on the lineup against a new opponent, if the bout with Poirier will be rescheduled or what will happen with the two fighters.
