Khabib Nurmagomedov Is In Some Very Hot Water… With His Dad

Lightweight champ Khabib Nurmagomedov beat the stuffing out of Conor McGregor at UFC 229 on Saturday night, and after his win, jumped the cage and fought in the audience.

Mayhem ensued.

Understandably, the Dagestani is facing some serious repercussions. It’s unclear what the UFC might do to him, but the Nevada State Athletic Commission is certainly going to drop the hammer. That could take the form of fines and suspension, it could take the form of a public lashing (okay, not really)… who knows at this point.

But perhaps the greatest consequence of his ill-advised actions is waiting for him when he gets home.

Khabib’s dad is totally going to kick his ass.

This was alluded to in the post-fight presser, but apparently Pops Nurmagomedov has spoken to the local Dagestani press – and he’s not happy with his son.

As per BloodyElbow:

Speaking to Russian media, Abdulmanap revealed that he plans to punish his son for his role in the brawl.

“I will impose a punishment tougher than the UFC’s. I warned him. For me, discipline comes first. You do whatever you want in the Octagon, [but] outside — this is the border of civilians, where there are children, women, strangers.”

”Financial issues have not been resolved,” Abdulmanap told tass.ru. “He does not know what is going on. He was supposed to fly out of America on the 9th. I do not know what date, at what time [he will return from the United States to Dagestan now].”

If we see Khabib with a pair of black eyes and a distinct limp when he walks, we’ll know his dad don’t play.
