Future Plans For Lita and Trish Stratus

– The WWE Universe was in for a huge surprise this past Monday night, when the singles match of Alexa Bliss versus Trish Stratus for the first-ever all-women’s pay-per-view Evolution was changed to a tag team bout to include Mickie James and WWE Hall of Famer Lita.

While reports have surfaced that this was in the cards all along, it seems as if the WWE has plans for these real-life BFFs in the near future when it comes to tag team action. PW Insider’s Elite audio’s Mike Johnson noted that about a couple of weeks ago, the idea was brought up for Lita and Stratus to work as a tag team on some big WWE events coming down the pipe.

Barnburner’s No Holds Barred Joe Peisich recently relayed on a podcast that Stephanie McMahon is set to play a historic role at Evolution, by announcing WWE’s first women’s tag team championships. If this is going to roll out, the company will undoubtedly need Trish and Lita in the coming months to help move this huge new development in the women’s division along.

– Speaking of the WWE’s women’s division, Asuka made one of the biggest main roster debuts in WWE history, showcasing an undefeated streak that shattered records within the company. Unfortunately, since that streak was broken at Wrestlemania, thanks to Charlotte Flair, the WWE Universe has seen little when it comes to a push for the incredible female talent. Thankfully, she’s still on television now and again and active within the WWE’s Mixed Match Challenge event with The Miz; however, her character is experiencing a lag creatively.

Does Asuka have some backstage heat? The answer is no. According to PW Insider Elite audio’s Mike Johnson it all comes down to the fact that she doesn’t speak English that well, and that he (Vince McMahon) wants superstars who can cut promos.

Asuka’s character has a ton of charm, and has been able to do very well with the little English she knows when it comes hyping up matches through in-ring and backstage segments. Her intro to the ring is phenomenal, and Asuka’s technique in the squared circle has certainly helped distinguish herself from the other ladies on the main roster. She had a huge push when she first entered Monday Night RAW, and here’s hoping that she can impress the powers that be enough in the next few months heading into Wrestlemania season so that she can be placed back into that title race spectrum at some point.
