roseanne barr ambien

Months after the cancellation of her eponymous sitcom, Roseanne Barr reemerged today to give more information about what made her tweet that infamous comment about Valerie Jarrett.

People Magazine reported that while appearing on “The Dr. Oz Show,” Barr opened up about her use of Ambien, the drug she says led her to post the tweet.

“It is a weird drug,” Barr said in the promo for the show, which is set to air on September 18. Barr started blaming Ambien for the tweet about Jarrett as soon as the scandal broke.

“Well, I’ve done some weird things on Ambien and I think a lot of people have. I’ve heard from thousands of people about it,” Barr said. “One guy got up and cooked a turkey and ate it. That was, like, four hours, if you think about it — and didn’t remember it in the morning. And all the time that happens to me. When I go up in the kitchen and there’s a whole box of Triscuits laid out and eggs cracked on the wall, cheese everywhere. I ‘Ambien eat,’ like how Tiger Woods ‘Ambien drove.’ It’s a weird drug.”

But before liberals jump down her throat and say she is just making excuses, let’s recount the facts. From the moment the scandal broke, Barr has taken responsibility for what she did, even while explaining that she was on Ambien at the time, which she says impaired her mental state.

“Guys I did something unforgivable so do not defend me,” she tweeted at the height of the scandal. “It was 2 in the morning and I was ambien tweeting-it was memorial day too-i went 2 far & do not want it defended-it was egregious Indefensible [sic]. I made a mistake I wish I hadn’t but…don’t defend it please.”

Though Dr. Oz seemed skeptical at Barr’s Ambien excuse, many others have reported having weird experiences with the drug. Some of the official side effects of Ambien include memory loss, disorientation, aggression, and confusion. One search on the internet will turn up hundreds of weird stories about unusual behavior on the drug.

Whether you believe Barr’s Ambien excuse or not, you can’t deny that she is taking responsibility for her actions and feels bad about what she did. It’s time for the world to forgive Roseanne Barr and allow her to move on with her life!
