Honestly, Chael Sonnen makes covering MMA fun.
You just never know what the former UFC title contender is going to say either via one of his many shows or social media.
Over the Labor Day Weekend, Sonnen elected to sound-off on former opponent Jon Jones after “Bones” had called into question his trash-talk game.
That was a mistake.
Here’s a recap of what Sonnen had to say over a 20-or-so hour stretch on Twitter in return to Jones:
“JonJon, heard your critique, forgot you were in the business; even as a spectator,” Sonnen posted. “JonJon, you trash-talk about as well as your exchange insurance info after traffic accidents.”
“JonJon, I treasure you, as long as you’re around, I look like a clean overachiever,” he added in reference to both failing drug tests. “Jones’ career: one big SIDE EFFECT. You spend more time on the shelf than a LIBRARY BOOK, ya BUM.”
“Turn your cel-phone off; USADA has GPS TRACKING,” he said. “Jon Jones – Your career took a bump in the road…and then you tried to snort it. I heard you are not allowed at your brothers football games because you tried to snort all the lines off the field.”
“Jon Jones had the same game plan in and out of the Octagon–Hit and Run,” he said. “Jon Jones is celebrating Labor Day just like he does every day for the past 3 years…by not working.”
After that, Sonnen took aim at his next opponent, Fedor Emelianenko. The two meet later this year in one semifinal of the Bellator Heavyweight Grand Prix.
“What’s more tainted than Jon Jones supplements,” Sonnen asked. “A: Fedor’s Pride career.
“Fedor is such a white pasty lump that Jon Jones just tried to snort him.”
