Jerry Lawler Discusses Son’s Death And What He Thinks Really Happened

Brian Christopher, the son of Jerry Lawler and former WWF tag champion passed away after a suicide attempt in jail. Christopher was in jail following a string of legal problems. We have more details surrounding his death and how his father is dealing with the news.

Days after the death, The King broke his silence and revealed he was by his son’s side holding his hand as Brian slipped away (via Fox13). Lawler was in North Carolina but came back to Memphis Sunday night to be by his son’s side.

The former tag team champion and member of “2Cool” was arrested on suspicion of DUI on July 7th.

“Cops attempted to pull him over, but Lawler failed to stop — because, according to police, he was trying to make it home.

Once Lawler finally stopped, cops say he reeked of booze and had an open 12 ounce can in his center console. So, they arrested him on the spot.”

Brian Christopher was also arrested late Tuesday/Early Wednesday, June 5th for failing to pay for a hotel room.

Brian Lawler and Terry Teague used a company credit card to stay in the hotel, however, it did not have enough money on it, the arrest affidavit said. Lawler was charged with Theft of Services $1000 or less.

Lawler spoke about his son’s death further on his Dinner With The King podcast. Lawler believes there is more to the story than what is being told, but will wait until the end of the police investigation before he says too much. It is still a tough listen.

Brian Christopher’s History

Police arrested Lawler in 2009 for public intoxication. While in WWE, Christopher was fired for failing drug tests and transporting drugs across the US-Canada border. He struggled with drug and alcohol often throughout his career and life. His career got a bit of a resurrection in 2014 when he and Scotty 2 Hotty reunited to face The Ascension for the NXT Tag Titles at NXT Arrival.

Brian Christopher is the son of wrestling legend Jerry “The King” Lawler. Christopher wrestled in the Memphis territory or USWA, Power-Pro and other promotions.  Christopher worked for most of his career not acknowledging Lawler as his father. However, it was an inside joke made by commentary and other wrestlers. He won numerous belts in Memphis and throughout the South. He established himself as a formidable high-flyer who still had the charisma and crowd-work ability of his father.
