At the end of last month, the NFL ordered Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones to stop talking about the national anthem protests after he said multiple times that all players should be standing for it. Now, Jones has defied the NFL by addressing these protests once again as he praised his player Dak Prescott for calling on players to stand for the anthem.

“I’m so proud of him,” Jones just told TMZ Sports. “Just proud of him the way he leads the team … for not letting it mess with their practices.”

Prescott has been an outspoken supporter of Jones’ “my players will stand” position on the national anthem.

“I never protest during the anthem, and I don’t think that’s the time or the venue to do so,” Prescott said last month.

This isn’t the first time Jones has defied the NFL in speaking about the anthem protests. At the end of July, Jones defiantly said that “Our policy is you stand during the anthem, toe on the line.”

We applaud Jones for taking a stand for our national anthem! Over the past few years, countless players have been taking a knee during the national anthem to protest against racial inequality in the United States. What these players don’t care to realize is that by kneeling for the anthem, they are actually spitting in the faces of veterans who put their lives on the line to fight for our flag and our freedom.

Though millions of Americans have made it clear that they are sick of watching smug, multi-millionaire NFL players disrespect our country, the NFL has continued to stand by the players and allow them to continue their anti-American protests. It’s time for more NFL players and owners to join Jones and Prescott and take a stand for our national anthem!
