Insatiable

Netflix has yet another controversy on its hand. The streaming online giant is being skewered for its upcoming series “Insatiable” for what many consider to be “fat-shaming” and creating body issues. Basically, the social justice warriors have found the idea to be un-PC, just like everything else in the world.

The show centers around an overweight girl called “Fatty Patty.” The bullied teen suddenly loses a lot of weight over the summer after having her jaw wired shut. Now that she is skinny, Patty suddenly is the new hot girl who gets revenge on the people who were mean to her. Many believe “Insatiable” is promoting eating disorders for this reason. There also is anger that the actress wears a fat suit.

More than 200,000 people signed a petition to have the show shelved over the claim that the show’s premise is that you have to starve yourself to be popular or successful. “That is exactly what this series does. It perpetuates not only the toxicity of diet culture, but the objectification of women’s bodies,” the petition reads. But, Netflix is holding firm on “Insatiable’s” August 10th release.

A more appropriate story would have been that Patty got her revenge while she was still overweight. Why did she have to starve herself, completely changing her body in the process, to teach the meanies a lesson? Because this is Hollywood and they can’t live by the same rules they want to serve up to Middle America. We can’t body shame people, but they can!

“Feminist” Trump hater Alyssa Milano also stars in this body-shaming show.  The fact that she claims to be for women and then takes a paycheck for a show encouraging starvation for vanity proves that she is just another Hollywood hypocrite!

It’s been a rough month for Netflix – some were already calling for boycotts of the company because of recent announcements. Netflix stated they will have a new series that perverts Christianity. “American Jesus” will portray a 12-year-old American boy who suddenly has the powers of Jesus. In addition, they are now offering a movie giving a positive spin on known anti-Semite Louis Farrakhan.

Netflix keeps making controversial decisions that really could affect their subscriptions!
