Country music star Carrie Underwood just stunned her fans by announcing that she is expecting her second child with her husband, Mike Fisher.
Yahoo News reported that Underwood made the announcement in a video that she posted to Twitter. The video was meant to announce the fact that Underwood’s next tour won’t be until May.
“You might be wondering, or asking, ‘Carrie, why is your tour starting in May?’” Underwood said in the video. “Well. …”
The camera then panned back to show balloons spelling the word “baby.”
“Mike and Isaiah and I are absolutely over the moon and excited to be adding another little fish to our pond,” Underwood said. “This has just been a dream come true with the album and the baby news and all that stuff. We’re just so excited, and just so glad that you guys can share in this with us.”

This came days after Underwood found herself in hot water after saying that at the age of 35, she has given up hope of ever having a large family. This comment offended people who pointed out that it is possible to become a mother until a woman is well over 40.
“I’m 35, so we may have missed our chance to have a big family,” Underwood said in the controversial interview. “We always talk about adoption, and about doing it when our child or children are a little older.”
We’re so glad to hear that Underwood is getting to live out her dream of expanding her family! Hopefully, this pregnancy will show her that she can still have the big family that she has always wanted!
