Mother Shamed for Breastfeeding But Keep Your Eye on the People Behind Her

Mothers have a right to decide how to feed their children. But unfortunately, society has sexualized breastfeeding, making some people uncomfortable with it. This was the topic of a recent “What Would You Do?” episode and what happened might surprise you.

In the skit, the actress playing the mother breastfeeding her baby is accosted by the woman playing another patron across from them. The offended woman interrupts the mother and asks her to nurse her baby in the bathroom. The mother was being discreet by wearing a nursing shirt and her breasts weren’t even showing as cameras rolled to capture the reactions of other diners. However, the way these fellow Americans responded might help restore your faith in humanity.

Thankfully, people were supporting the mother over the critical customer. Most people suggested she move her seat so she wouldn’t be able to see the feeding baby and none of the other diners agreed it was appropriate for her to be fed in the bathroom. Perhaps the griping customer should go eat her lunch in the bathroom instead!

It’s rather simple. If you don’t want to watch a woman breastfeeding, don’t look at her. It’s easy to look away. Like many moms, this woman was being discreet while feeding her baby. If someone finds it offensive, that is their problem.

This is a situation that moms sadly face when feeding their children these days which is absurd when you consider how many women wear shirts that show off far more than anyone could see as this mother breastfed. So why is it acceptable to show cleavage but not to feed your child? In case anyone forgot, nursing a child is what breasts are for!

The final encounter gets rather heated, ending with one of the patrons somewhat aggressively joining the table of the upset customer. The man sat down with the woman and said he wanted to make her as uncomfortable as she was making the breastfeeding mom. Watch all of this unfold below:

This diner was filled with people who were willing to stand up for a mother and baby. More proof there are still great people in this world!
