vmas low ratings

The 2018 MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs) took place on Monday night, and Hollywood stars spent the vast majority of the program mercilessly bashing President Donald Trump. Unsurprisingly, this has come back to bite them in a huge way.

Breitbart reported that ratings for this years VMAs hit a record low. In total viewers on MTV alone, there was a 15 percent decline in ratings. Making matters even worse for them, in the all-important 18-49 audience, there was a drop of 21 percent in ratings.

This comes after the awards show got incredibly political, with comedian Kevin Hart telling Trump to “suck it.”

“You never know what’s going to happen at the VMAs. Bad language, people run to the bathroom and send out crazy tweets. It’s basically like a typical day at the White House. In your face, Trump! Suck it!” Hart said at one point.

Hart went on to slam those who have criticized NFL national anthem kneelers, clearly not realizing that the majority of Americans are against this unpatriotic form of protest.

“We are live coast-to-coast, people,” Hart said. “I’m looking at this like it’s game day. But do not worry. For this game, you’re allowed to kneel. You can do whatever the hell you want. There’s no old white man who can stop you.”

Later in the show, rapper Logic gave a ridiculously political performance as he wore a shirt that read, “F*** The Wall.” As he performed, he had immigrant families from activist groups come on stage and be “reunited” while wearing shirts that read “We are all human beings.”

The fact that ratings of this program went down so much proves once and for all that Americans of all ages are sick and tired of awards shows being politicized. When will Hollywood elitists realize that we aren’t interested in them lecturing us on how we should approach politics?

Hollywood liberals are too self-centered to realize that their efforts are backfiring and only inspiring more people to vote for Trump in 2020. Perhaps Hollywood stars are actually Trump’s secret weapon after all!
