Willie Robertson

Since the “Duck Dynasty” reality show has ended, Willie Robertson is devoting his time to his passion – preaching. The Robertsons are proud Christians and it’s important to them to share Jesus’s message with others. He took his message of faith and love far outside his home state of Louisiana when he recently went to Jesus Camp in Chicago.

Jesus Camp is a spiritual camp that also focuses on good works. In addition to praying, participants feed the homeless as well. Willie and others are seeking to combat crime and other societal issues by spreading Jesus’ message.

“I wanted really just to point towards Jesus and say that’s the only thing that can bring us together,” Robertson said in an interview with CBN News.

Along with over 20 ministers, Willie Robertson went door-to-door in high crime and poverty-stricken areas of Chicago offering prayer and giving out Christian books. Robertson wants to let people know that even in troubling times, Jesus loves them.

The “Duck Dynasty” star was surprised that people in Chicago recognized him. He likely stuck out a bit wearing his signature flag bandana while walking down what is referred to as “Murder Drive” in the Windy City.

“I’m here because I just want to show people I love ’em. I see the crime all the time and I hear it on the news and I think a lot of us just sit around in our living rooms and go, ‘Wow, you know, what can we do?’ And the first thing you can do is do something,” Willie said. “So I showed up here and just walking and just hugging on people, loving ’em and telling ’em we love ’em.”

Willie has seen the dramatic transformation accepting Christ can have on someone’s life. He referenced how his dad Phil completely turned his life away when he began walking with Jesus and that decision set the path for generations of Robertsons.
