The Queen Is ‘Fuming’

Queen Elizabeth was hit with a devastating blow last Friday when rumors swept the internet that her beloved 97-year-old husband Prince Philip had passed away.

The U.K. Sun reported that rumors Prince Philip had died started trending on Twitter late on Friday. Things got so bad that Buckingham Palace was flooded with calls about Philip’s supposed death, and sources say that the Queen was “absolutely fuming” about the situation. Queen Elizabeth ended up going so far as to make a tense ten-minute phone call to her staff about how to deal with this piece of hurtful fake news.

“They both agreed there was little they could do but they are very, very annoyed,” a royal insider said. “It’s not nice to hear people the world over commenting on your health or death, even if you’re used to being in the public eye.”

“It shows how the internet can get out of control,” the source continued. “The Queen is absolutely fuming over this and thinks it’s disgraceful.”

The 92-year-old monarch is currently on vacation in Balmoral while her husband is at Sandringham. She only learned about the internet rumors when her staffers began frantically asking how her husband was doing.

“If he was ill, she would be with him instead of starting her Scottish holiday,” the insider explained. “In fact not only is he not very ill, he is actually in fine form and is recovering well from his recent hip operation. It has given him a new lease of life and he hopes to live to 100 just like the Queen Mum!”

It’s sad that the Queen and Prince Philip are being forced to deal with hurtful internet rumors at their advanced ages. We’re glad to see that there is, in fact, no truth to these claims and that Philip is as healthy as ever!
