The Queen And Prince Philip Will Not Attend Prince Louis’ Christening

Buckingham Palace just made a surprising announcement about Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip that has many fearing for their overall health.

Daily Mail reported the palace has announced that the two monarchs will not be attending the christening of their great-grandson Prince Louis, which is being held today at Chapel Royal at St James’s Palace, London.

The Queen, 92, has decided to skip the christening as she is preparing for an incredibly busy work week that includes a visit with President Donald Trump on Friday. Before that, she is participating in high-profile celebrations marking the centenary of the Royal Air Force on Tuesday. Given her advanced age, it’s understandable that the Queen has decided it is important to rest up before such a hectic week of work, but she must be saddened that she will not be seeing the christening of the newest addition to her family.

Meanwhile, 97-year-old Philip has been keeping a much lower profile since retiring from royal duties last year. Despite this, many thought that he might make an exception to attend the christening of his grandson. The fact that he has chosen to sit this out as well suggests to some that his health may be worse than the palace is letting on.

Though the Queen and Prince Philip will not be in attendance, many other members of the royal family will attend the christening. Louis’ parents, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, will attend the service along with his older siblings, Prince George and Princess Charlotte.

Louis’ six godparents, whose identities were just revealed today, will also be attending the christening, as well. The godparents are Nicholas van Cutsem, Guy Pelly, Harry Aubrey-Fletcher, The Lady Laura Meade, Hannah Carter and Lucy Middleton.

Justin Welby, the Archbishop of Canterbury, will be christening the little prince.

While we’re saddened that the Queen and Prince Philip will not be attending the christening, we certainly wish Prince Louis the best of luck on his big day! Please keep the royal family in your thoughts and prayers!

James Conrad

James Conrad’s passion for politics is only overshadowed by his longstanding interest in Hollywood. His unique perspective as a gay conservative fuels him to challenge celebrity views and those who think they have a right to tell anyone how to think or vote. James proudly wields his minority point of view to combat identity politics and cut through his typecast. Fun fact: James’ guilty pleasure is the British royal family.
