Billy Crystal’s Voicemails From Robin Williams Will Bring You To Tears

It’s been nearly four years since comedic actor Robin Williams passed away, but millions of fans still miss him every day.

While Williams was certainly beloved by his fans, he was also loved by his fellow actors in Hollywood because of the kind of friend he was to them. In the documentary “Robin Williams: Come Inside My Mind,” Williams’ good friend Billy Crystal opened up about the hilarious voicemails Williams would leave him that would make him laugh and brighten up his day.

“Hello, Bill, it’s Lord Sisley,” Williams said in one voicemail as he spoke in a British accent. “I’m in Africa, and dear God, man, you should be here. There’s creatures who would adore you. I send you all my love, but not like that day in boys school. Something different. Something wonderful. A hug.”

Years later, when Ronald Reagan passed away, Williams called up Crystal doing his best impression of the deceased former president.

“I’m in this strange place, and it seems to be quite hot here,” Williams said, according to Western Journal.

Williams and Crystal remained close friends until his death.

“As the friendship really grew and grew, we kind of needed each other more,” Crystal explained. “Everybody wanted something from him. I just liked him.”

Williams also used his humor to help “Superman” actor Christopher Reeve after he was left paralyzed in a horseback riding accident.

“Then, at an especially bleak moment,” Reeves recounted in his autobiography “Still Me,” “the door flew open and in hurried a squat fellow with a blue scrub hat and a yellow surgical gown and glasses, speaking in a Russian accent. He announced that he was my proctologist, and that he had to examine me immediately.”

Stories like this serve as a reminder as to why Williams is so dearly missed! God bless you, Robin Williams!

James Conrad

James Conrad’s passion for politics is only overshadowed by his longstanding interest in Hollywood. His unique perspective as a gay conservative fuels him to challenge celebrity views and those who think they have a right to tell anyone how to think or vote. James proudly wields his minority point of view to combat identity politics and cut through his typecast. Fun fact: James’ guilty pleasure is the British royal family.
