How Meghan Feels About Her Father’s Tell-All Interview About Harry

This week, we reported that Meghan Markle’s father Thomas Markle Sr. had given a surprising tell-all interview in which he revealed Prince Harry’s personal thoughts on political topics like Brexit and President Donald Trump. This was particularly bad for the British royal family, as they are supposed to remain politically neutral at all times.

Now, the reaction from Meghan and the rest of the royals to her father’s shocking interview has been revealed.

“Harry and Meghan will undoubtedly be upset by this,” royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams told the U.K. Express. “They will be unwelcome but it won’t be that embarrassing.”

Fitzwilliams went on to say that it’s clear that Thomas Sr. “obviously feels under strain.”

“Thomas Markle is reclusive, his health is poor and he obviously feels under strain. It was an emotional interview,” he said. “It is worth remembering that he was one of Hollywood’s top lighting directors but the job involved pivotal but background work. He is retired and totally unprepared for media attention let alone the avalanche of global interest which accompanies royal matters but he clearly cares about his image hence the interview.”

Some have attacked Kensington Palace for not giving Thomas Sr. more protection from the press, but Fitzwilliams does not think they should be blamed for this.

“It’s easy to blame Kensington Palace for this but we don’t know the full facts, he may have been offered assistance which he declined,” Fitzwilliams said.

In the interview, Thomas Sr. talked about the various conversations he has had with Harry over the phone. He said that the British royal was “open to the experiment of Brexit” and that he should “give Donald Trump a chance.”

While this is certainly embarrassing for the royals, we hope they will cut Thomas Sr. some slack. He’s clearly a shy elderly man who is not used to being in the spotlight, and perhaps he was not aware of the importance of the British royal family keeping their political views private. In the end, we’re still glad to see that Thomas Sr. is bonding with his daughter and her new husband, and we hope this attention from the press does not ruin his relationship with them!
