Roseanne Barr was devastated on Tuesday when ABC abruptly canceled her eponymous sitcom “Roseanne” after she posted a racist tweet about Barack Obama’s former advisor Valerie Jarrett. Now, Barr has opened up to reveal to her fans what the saddest part of this whole scandal has been for her.

Daily Mail reported that Barr is “ashamed” of the fact that her tweet comparing Jarrett to an “ape” may make her 9-year-old African American costar Jayden Rey think that the comedian does not love her.

“I think I’ll b better tomorrow. The saddest part of all is 4 Jayden Rey on the show whom I grew2 love so much & am so ashamed of myself that she would ever think I do not love her bc she is African American. It’s the most gawd awful painful thing. I can’t let myself cave in tho,” Barr wrote in a tweet that has since been deleted.

Rey appeared on “Roseanne” in the role of Mary Conner, who is the daughter of Roseanne’s son DJ and his wife Deena. This was Rey’s first major role, as she previously only appeared in one episode of the CBS drama “Unforgettable.” Prior to that, she was a model for multiple junior clothing lines.

In another Twitter rant, Barr revealed that she begged Disney-ABC Television Group President Ben Sherwood to keep her show on the air before she heard it was canceled.

“I begged Ben Sherwood at ABC 2 let me apologize & make amends. I begged them not to cancel the show. I told them I was willing to do anything & asked 4 help in making things right. I’d worked doing publicity 4 them 4 free for weeks, traveling, thru bronchitis. I begged 4 ppls jobs,’ said Barr. “He said: what were you thinking when you did this? I said: I thought she was white, she looks like my family! He scoffed & said: ‘what u have done is egregious, and unforgivable.’ I begged 4 my crews jobs. Will I ever recover from this pain? omg.”

“‘I also told Ben Sherman that I would go in hospital to check my meds, bc the stress had made them less effective. I begged like 40 motherf—–s. Done now,” Barr added in the tweets, which have since been deleted.

This is clearly a very difficult time for Barr and the entire cast and crew of “Roseanne.” While we certainly do not support Barr’s tweet, it’s sad that one post has cost over 200 people their jobs. We can only hope that the world can forgive Barr eventually so that she can move on with her life and career from this scandal!
