Everything You Need To Know To Watch The Royal Wedding

Royal watchers are geared up for this weekend’s Royal Wedding at St. George’s Chapel. Prince Harry will be tying the knot with actress Meghan Markle. Prince William will be serving as Best Man. This is an exciting time, particularly since an American will become a member of the Royal Family. Here’s what you need to know if you want to watch the historic festivities!

It’s important to remember that England is 6 hours ahead of Eastern Standard Time. That means if you plan on watching the wedding live, you will have to set your alarm quite early for a Saturday and stock up on coffee!

The wedding starts at noon sharp local time. That’s 6 am for Americans on the East Coast! Guests will begin arriving about an hour and a half before that. Television coverage will begin early as plenty of people will be greatly anticipating this historic wedding uniting a member of the Royal Family with an American citizen.

Here’s information about where and when to tune in to get your Harry and Meghan fix:

If you’re too excited about the wedding to sleep, tune into CBS as their coverage begins at 4 am. Later that night, the network will continue with the wedding theme with a 2 hours show titled “Royal Romance: The Marriage of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle,” at 8 p.m. EST/PST.

PBS is beginning coverage just minutes after CBS. Tune in at 4:15 am to watch “The Royal Wedding: Prince Harry & Meghan Markle,” which will have live coverage from BBC. Meredith Vieira will be joined by British host Matt Baker. They will have live reports from Windsor Castle.

NBC will begin coverage at 4:30 am EST. Hoda Kotb and Savannah Guthrie will be hosting “Today’s” coverage of the Royal Wedding from Windsor Castle.

E! will start coverage at 5 am that runs until 10 am. “E! Live From The Royal Wedding” will be hosted by Giuliana Rancic, Brad Goreski, Sarah-Jane Crawford and royal expert Melanie Bromley.

TLC will have four hours of live coverage beginning at 4 am. Afterward, at 10 pm, the network will host “Royal Wedding Revealed” for Royal Watchers who still haven’t had enough of this fun day!

Fox News is also joining in with coverage that will start at 5 am with Ainsley Earhardt reporting from Windsor Castle for Fox and Friends. Shepard Smith and Sandra Smith will then broadcast live from St. George’s Castle beginning at 6 am.

Following the wedding, the newlyweds will travel in a horse-drawn carriage through Windsor so people can see them. Video of their carriage and horse can be seen below.

Harry and Meghan have broken with tradition and are having a standing lunch reception with food bowls to encourage guests to mingle. The Queen will host the reception at St. George’s Hall in Windsor Castle. The couple will then have a private dinner for 200 of their closest family and friends.

Share this if you will be watching the Royal Wedding!
