The WWE has made some changes in its pay-per-view format, which could relate to the recent bidding war for SmackDown Live. Now, it would appear WWE pay-per-views will all become a little lengthier, with the shortest pay-per-views being moved up from three hours to four hours. Here is the story!

Four-Hour Money in the Bank?

One of the first pay-per-views that could be affected by the change is Money in the Bank. ‘The Observer’ stated that it is likely the June 17th Money in the Bank pay-per-view will receive a four-hour slot; running from 7 to 11 pm.

The Big Four

There are four major pay-per-views that take five hours. These pay-per-views are referred to as ‘The Big Four’; this includes the Royal Rumble, WrestleMania, Survivor Series, and Summerslam.

Many people wonder if the new time table has any effect on the duration of the Big Four pay-per-views. At the moment, it does not seem the duration of these pay-per-views are affected by the increase. Therefore, the Big Four are expected to remain on a five-hour time table.

Changes on the WWE Website for Money in the Bank

There have been some rumblings online about lengthier pay-per-views, but until recently, there were no changes to the WWE website where start times were concerned. Even though the WWE has not responded to requests to comment on the changing start times, the company has changed the start time for Money in the Bank from 8 pm to 7 pm. Naturally, this indicates that the rumors are true.

Are the Changes a Good or a Bad Thing?

I have to be honest; it is difficult to fill a four-hour pay-per-view. It is hard enough to put a good show on for Raw and SmackDown Live, so how is the WWE going to manage to put on four-hour long pay-per-views.

Let’s face it; the WWE struggled to put on decent storylines over the past couple of months. There is so much saturation going on, it is difficult to get enthused about anything. While I believe the WWE will do a good job for the upcoming Money in the Bank pay-per-view, I have my doubts for the other pay-per-views; this includes Fastlane, Night of Champions, and Backlash. Let’s face it, these pay-per-views have been so bad, I cannot bear another hour on top!

Still, let’s give the WWE a shot for now and see what they have in store for us.
