Kate Middleton Gives Birth But There’s Something Crazy About The Timing!

Royal watchers are cheering because the Duchess of Cambridge gave birth to a son this morning. He is the third child of Kate Middleton and Prince William and is fifth in line to the throne.

The Duchess of Cambridge is reportedly doing well, as is her newborn son. Kate, who suffered from an extreme morning sickness known as hyperemesis graviderum, gave birth to a healthy baby at St. Mary’s Hospital in Central London.

In this modern era of royalty, Kensington Palace tweeted out the news!

This newborn Prince was born on a rather patriotic holiday, St. George’s Day. St. George is the protector of the Royal family and the patron saint of England during the Middle Ages. His cross is used as the English flag and is prominent on the Union Jack flag of Great Britain.

St. George’s Day is a particularly special day because it’s a day to celebrate English culture. What an appropriate day for a Prince to be born!

His name hasn’t been announced yet. Of course, George is not really an option since the newborn Prince’s brother and future King already has claimed the rights to this name.

Prince Harry will also be married at St. George’s Chapel in Windsor Palace next month.

This prince’s birth is also significant because his older sister, Princess Charlotte, retains her position for succession to the throne even though she has a younger brother. Under the 2013 Succession to the Crown Act, princes no longer take precedence over princesses.

Kate Middleton followed in the footsteps of her deceased mother-in-law Princess Diana who gave birth to her sons in the Lindo Wing of St. Mary’s hospital. Diana and Princess Anne were the first Royals to give birth in a hospital. Previously, royal home births were the standard.

According to custom, Queen Elizabeth was first notified of the birth. The monarch is the always first to be told after a Royal baby is born.
