candace cameron bure body shamer

Fuller House star Candace Cameron Bure is in the best shape of her life at age 42, and she recently had the perfect response to a cruel follower who commented about her weight on Instagram.

The mean-spirited troll left the comment on a photo that Cameron Bure shared of her and her 18-year-old son, Lev. Cameron Bure looks fantastic in the snap, but the commenter, who mistook Lev for Cameron Bure’s husband, Val Bure, had the gall to ask, “All that excercising [sic] and you still look like you weigh more than your husband, did you change your diet?”

The comment is doubly cruel considering that Cameron Bure has been very public about her struggles with bulimia. But rather than fight cruelty with cruelty, Cameron Bure took the high road and issued a perfect response.

“Nice troll,” she said. “If a 25 inch waist looks big to you… then you’re looking through an altered lens.”

Unbelievably, the commenter then attempted to call Cameron Bure a hypocrite by claiming that a real Christian wouldn’t call people names. “Didn’t know it was your son, guess I hit a nerve, but someone who believes in the Bible wouldn’t be calling names.”

But no one else saw anything wrong or un-Christian about what Cameron Bure said, and dozens jumped to her defense.

“WHY, do ppl have to be ugly! 25 in waist or 35, 45 u get the picture,” one person responded. “Be humble and kind. Love u Candice and your beliefs.”

“You look absolutely gorgeous! Love the example you are giving to women! God bless you and your beautiful family,” another said.

“Oh so what you are saying is you said something nasty to Cameron because she’s Christian and thought you had a freebie cause she can’t speak up for herself,” yet another person responded. “I’m sorry hun being a Christian doesn’t mean you have to be a door mat and calling you a troll is not an insult it’s a FACT.”

In case you’re wondering, in Internet slang, a “troll” is someone who intentionally tries to sow discord by making inflammatory, cruel, or off-topic comments in an online community. It can also be a verb. By that definition, Cameron Bure certainly didn’t call anyone names; as her followers pointed out, she simply stated a fact.
