OJ Simpson

Fox has announced that it will air a never-before-seen interview with OJ Simpson in which he discloses how he “hypothetically” would have killed ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson and her friend Ron Goldman in 1994.

The special, titled “OJ Simpson: The Lost Confession?”, is an interview that Simpson recorded with TV host Judith Regan 12 years ago. According to sources familiar with the interview, it focuses mainly on Simpson’s infamous book, “If I Did It.”

During the interview, Simpson describes in eerie detail the circumstances surrounding his hypothetical murder of Brown Simpson and Goldman:

Simpson’s scenario goes like this … he went to her house the evening of June 12, 1994, to “scare the s*** out of her.” He took the Bronco to her home with his friend, brought a knife and put a hat and gloves on for dramatic effect.

Simpson then says he looked in Nicole’s window … saw burning candles and believed she was expecting a man to show up. Just then Ron, a waiter from the restaurant where she had just dined, appeared with a pair of sunglasses Nicole’s mom had forgotten at the restaurant. Simpson started screaming in rage, Nicole came running out … and at that point he says he “blacked out” and came to covered in blood.

Reportedly, Simpson started the interview in the third person. But at some point he lapsed into first person, making it sound like something of a confession.

The interview was originally scheduled to air in 2006, but it was scrapped after massive public outcry. Fox’s owner at the time, News Corp, was forced to admit that the interview was in poor taste and apologized to the families of Brown and Goldman.

The only reason the interview is airing now is because both victim’s families have sanctioned the move. Additionally, the Goldman family previously won the rights to “If I Did It” in a civil suit, so Simpson will not profit from the special.

“OJ Simpson: The Lost Confession?” will air March 11 at 8 p.m. EST.
