The Duggar family expanded February 23rd when Joy-Anna gave birth to her first son.
Austin and Joy-Anna Forsyth welcomed Gideon Martyn Forsyth. He is a big boy, weighing in at 10 lbs 3 ounces at birth. He is 22 inches long. The new mother is said to be feeling “very well.”
The couple didn’t waste any time after getting married last May after a three-month engagement. In August, the Forsyths announced that Joy-Anna was pregnant. It’s been a whirlwind year for this young couple. The couple met when Austin’s family joined the Duggars’ church in Arkansas.
The 20-year-old mother and 24-year-old father shared the news of Gideon’s birth along with photos you can page through in an Instagram post below.
“We are blessed beyond measure with the arrival of our son, Gideon Martyn Forsyth,” the new parents told People. “Looking at our child for the first time was such an incredible moment! God is so good, and we are so thankful.”
Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar expressed their excitement over having another grandchild.
“We are so thrilled for Joy and Austin! Children are a blessing from the Lord and we know [sic] will be such great parents. We can’t wait for this little one to grow up around all of these other grandbabies. We are so blessed and our hearts are overflowing,” the grandparents wrote on their website.

Duggar fans got to see Joy-Anna and Austin’s first kiss on a ‘Counting On’ wedding special that aired last year. Now that the series has returned for a new season, hopefully, we will get to see Gideon in the coming weeks!
