Sasha Banks has been getting something of a push as of late. Not only was she entrant No. 1 in the historic Women’s Royal Rumble match, but she also remained in the match the longest of anyone, lasting an impressive 54 minutes and 46 seconds. That gives her the 11th longest Royal Rumble appearance in history, man or woman.

The night after the Royal Rumble, Banks was in the spotlight again when she challenged Royal Rumble winner Asuka to a match. And even though she lost, fans couldn’t help but notice that the Boss was acting with a bit more attitude than she’s had in months.

Combine that with the fact that Banks eliminated her best friend Bayley from the Royal Rumble, and suddenly everyone is wondering: is the Boss finally turning heel?

A Feud Revisited

On Monday, Banks sent out a tweet that stirred up speculation of a character change even more.

The theory is that she’ll turn on Bayley and start a feud with her heading into WrestleMania 34. It makes sense, especially given the rumor that it will be Alexa Bliss vs. Nia Jax for the Raw Women’s Championship at WrestleMania (Asuka will reportedly challenge SmackDown Women’s Champion Charlotte). Furthermore, Banks and Bayley have one of the most storied feuds in NXT history – it’s only a matter of time before WWE revisits their rivalry on the main roster.

Lastly, it’s no secret that Banks prefers being bad. In December, she said on Steve Austin’s podcast that she feels “more comfortable” working as a heel:

I feel more free and I feel like I’m being more of myself because I can really be like ‘Yeah, I’m the sh*t.’ which I feel is hard to be as a babyface.

Of course, this also isn’t the first time a Banks heel turn and feud with Bayley has been rumored to be in the works. But if there were ever an ideal time for it to finally happen, it’s now.
