Ellen DeGeneres Bill Gates

Bill Gates clearly doesn’t do the grocery shopping in his house. The billionaire appeared on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” and was faced with a challenging game that resembled something from “The Price Is Right.”

He played a game called “Bill’s Grocery Bills,” where he demonstrated his lack of shopping skills. He was tasked with guessing the prices of food and other household items that are found in a grocery store. He didn’t have to be precise with his guess. He just needed to come within a dollar of the correct amount.

Ellen DeGeneres put some pressure on the 62-year-old by informing him that if he was correct on three of the five items, every member of the studio audience would receive a prize.

Gates started off on a shaky foot with the first item, a box of Rice-A-Roni. He had a whole dollar leeway with his guess, but he failed miserably. He guessed the San Francisco treat costs $5 when it only costs $1. “What a bargain!” Ellen said. “I’ll take 5,” the billionaire replied to laughter.

Next up were Tide Pods. Gates didn’t have a clue. He admitted that it had been a very long time since he had been to a grocery store, and didn’t have a clue about these prices. He swung and missed on this one too.

He didn’t whiff on the third item, which would have cost him the entire game. It was dental floss, and he guessed correctly.

Gates then had to correctly guess the fourth and fifth items correctly. He was rather clueless about both of them. Watch the hilarious video below to see how he handles the situation.

He needed some help! I can’t razz him too much for being out of touch. Sometimes one spouse doesn’t do the grocery shopping. If I didn’t have to do it, I admittedly wouldn’t go to the grocery store!
