Liberals Banning ‘Best Friends’ From Schools Because It’s Hurtful!

Liberal educators have a new target in our schools – best friends.

There is a move in some schools to ban the concept of best friends. Liberals claim having best friends is not “inclusive” and can hurt a lot of feelings.

Clinical psychologist Dr. Barbara Greenberg said this trend, which began in Europe, is getting traction in American schools. “There has been a movement in some American schools and European schools to ban the phrase ‘best friend,’ … The idea of banning the phrase ‘best friends’ is a very intriguing social experiment,” she said.

“I see kids come in all week long who are feeling dreadful because they are excluded and because they are either nobody’s best friend or their best friend has moved on,” she continued.

But, she acknowledges that banning the phrase best friends would not inhibit close relationships. If the term “best friends” was eliminated from children’s vocabulary, they would very possibly substitute it with another name.

The continued sanitizing of childhood is causing problems for children when they reach adulthood. Other generations grew up learning coping skills and how to handle rejection when they were kids. But, with educators and parents moving to protect children from hurt feelings, these important lessons are delayed until adulthood.

These lessons are easier and more appropriate to learn in childhood. Nobody needs to see an adult having a temper tantrum for not getting his or her way.

Prince George’s school discourages having best friends, instead hoping students will have equal friends. But, the school only discourages this. They do not ban best friends.

It is human nature to be close to some people. We can’t trust everyone and each friendship is not equal. Perhaps teaching children who are feeling left out how to adjust and make friends would be a better use of these teachers‘ time than breaking up best friends.
