Here’s What Happens When You Douse Your Steak in Salt… Wow!

To test out this recipe, Jack got the cheapest slice of meat from the butcher and had it cut in half. This allowed him to do a side by side comparison.

Using only sea salt (or kosher salt) and allowing it to sit on the steak, Jack ends up with an amazingly tender and very inexpensive piece of meat. Don’t be afraid to put too much salt on the steak because you will be washing it off before cooking it.

steps for tenderizing: — coat entire top of steak with coarse salt. — leave sitting out on counter for 1 hour per inch of meat — completely wash off salt. Pat dry the meat with a paper towel — cook and season as you normally would. Don’t add any type of salt while cooking. Not garlic salt, onion salt or regular salt. Enjoy!

There are many ways to cook a steak. When I’m not able to use the grill, I get out my cast iron skillet. It helps speed up the cooking process and cooks it very evenly. Not to mention, it gets a great sear on the meat.
