1960s family TV

A longtime favorite American show is getting a second chance at a much-anticipated reboot.

The Twilight Zone will soon be returning from another dimension to your television. This is news that should have science fiction lovers cheering.

Jordan Peele will be executive producing the new series. Yes, it has been signed for a series! Peele believes this is the right time to relaunch this beloved show. “Too many times this year it’s felt we were living in a twilight zone, and I can’t think of a better moment to reintroduce it to modern audiences.”

Peele will be joining forces with The X-Men franchise’s Simon Kinberg and The Defenders’ Marco Ramirez to breathe new life into the premiere of new The Twilight Zone series. CBS hasn’t announced when the series relaunch will premiere, but it is expected to arrive before the end of 2018. The new series is expected to be on CBS All Access streaming service.

The Twilight Zone originally aired in 1959 and ran for five years. The first reboot of this classic series was on television from 1985-1989. It returned briefly in the early 2000s. It’s a series that seems to have demand with each new generation, so it continues returning to the small screen!

Peele is most known for his thriller Get Out, which highlighted racism. The movie focuses on a black man’s oh-so terrifying weekend away at his white girlfriend’s Stepford-like family estate. This has many wondering if Peele will make latest The Twilight Zone reboot about today’s race relations.

After Rod Sterling returned from serving our country during World War II, he deliberately sought to create a television show that focused on the importance of ending tyranny and Marxism around the world. Sterling’s show, while focusing on the evils of Communism and war, did not seek to tear down America. In contrast, Jordan’s Peele’s reboot seems to be more of an excuse to blast America and her values, rather than being a proper homage to the original series.
