Pentatonix christmas

Pentatonix’s Christmas music is rather terrific. The a cappella group does an amazing job putting a fresh spin on some classic carols. Their voices are so perfect that they don’t require any musical instruments. They make all the sounds – percussion type sounds included – using just their voices.

In the video below, the group from Texas performs “The First Noel.” It’s rather amazing to realize they are doing it using only their voices! Their arrangement of this song is simply stunning.

Watch the video below to get into the Christmas spirit!

“The First Noel”
Noel, Noel, Noel, Noel
The First Noel, the Angels did say
Was to certain poor shepherds in fields as they lay
In fields where they lay keeping their sheep
On a cold winter’s night that was so deep
Noel, Noel, Noel, Noel
Born is the King of Israel!
Noel, Noel, Noel, Noel

They looked up and saw a star
Shining in the East beyond them far
And to the earth it gave great light
And so it continued both day and night
Noel, Noel, Noel, Noel
Noel, Noel, Noel, Noel
Noel, Noel, Noel, Noel
Born is the King of Israel!

Noel, Noel, Noel, Noel
Born is the King of Israel!
Born is the King of Israel!
Noel, Noel, Noel, Noel

Beautiful! It is stunning in its simplicity. I will definitely be listening to this quite a few times this Christmas season. “The First Noel” is a traditional English Christmas song. It’s believed to have been written in the early 19th century, but some think it may be much older than that. Pentatonix has energized this classic with their lively performance.
