A left-wing college student who stole the Make America Great Again hat right off a college Republican is going to be facing some justice. Edith Macias has been charged with misdemeanor grand theft in the Superior Court of California County Riverside. If Macias is convicted, she could be behind bars for a year for her egregious actions.
Macias took the hat right off Matthew Vitale’s head. She then took the hat to the Student Life Department to complain that Vitale had no right to wear the hat on the University of California Riverside campus. In a viral video of the encounter, Vitale demands his hat back as Macias refuses, claiming the Make America Great Again hat “represents genocide.”
Liberals who suffer from Trump Derangement Syndrome have a low tolerance for anyone showing support for President Trump. But, we live in a society that has laws. Vitale has a First Amendment right to wear his hat while Macias doesn’t have a right to steal the hat right from his head simply because her feelings are hurt.

Justice is now coming for this left-winger. She can’t steal something simply because she is offended. She is about to get a lesson on how our justice system works. California law considers removing property from someone’s body to be grand theft. In the real world, actions have consequences and she is about to encounter them head-on.
Macias’ court date isn’t until March 1. Perhaps she will come to court in tears claiming she didn’t mean to break the law, but the bottom line is that she can’t take what isn’t hers because she doesn’t like it. Vitale and college Republicans don’t have to ask for her permission to express their own views.
Maybe this will be the kick in the pants that Macias needs. This isn’t acceptable behavior outside of college campuses. It’s time she gets a dose of reality.
