woman passed out

A woman who was rescued by police officers after an apparent night of partying has some serious explaining to do. 25-year-old Amber Dlaine McKinney Morgan was discovered passed out in her car in the middle of a busy San Diego freeway. The terrifying scene was all caught on video.

A passerby ran to the vehicle and tried to wake the sleeping driver. She was passed out and completely unresponsive to his attempts. When police showed up, things got even more interesting. California Highway Patrol Officer Sergio Flores tried tapping on Morgan’s window. She kept snoozing.

At that point, the incapacitated driver took her foot off the brake and the car started rolling down the highway. “Stop your car, you’re going to crash,” the officer yelled over and over at the snoozing driver. Officer Flores had no choice but to smash the passenger window, finally gaining entrance into the car. He was able to activate the emergency brake just in time before the Chrysler Sebring got out of his reach and continued rolling into traffic.

As you can see in the video below, a confused Morgan exited the car. She stood disoriented with another office for a moment before being cuffed.

Drunk drivers take the lives of thousands of innocent people every year. Morgan obviously didn’t consider the safety of other drivers or pedestrians when she got behind the wheel. It’s plain as day that she was in no condition to drive. She’s lucky she escaped with her life and didn’t harm anyone else in the process.

Morgan was likely just moments away from being in an accident that could have changed the course of her life or even killed her. Thankfully, someone contacted police at the right time. Officer Flores’ quick thinking may have saved several lives that night.

Amber Dlaine McKinney Morgan should face some serious consequences for putting so many people at risk. She had no business driving in that condition. I can’t imagine what her BAC was that night. Hopefully, she has to face a judge that takes drunk driving seriously.
