Wendy Williams faints

Fans got quite a Halloween fright when Wendy Williams fainted during a live taping of her show on Tuesday. Like a champ, the TV host returned to her duties after a break.

Williams was dressed as the Statue of Liberty for her Halloween show, but her costume got the best of her. About 48 minutes into the show, the host got overheated. Her eyes showed that she suddenly wasn’t well. Then she began stuttering before she stumbled and collapsed amidst screams from the audience.

The video below also shows staff running to aid her. This was no Halloween prank! Producers immediately cut the live broadcast to black for viewers on the East Coast who watch the show live.

After a commercial break, Williams returned as the Statue of Liberty. “That was not a stunt. I overheated in my costume. I passed out,” she told the audience. “I’m a champ and I’m back.”

Wendy Williams is indeed a champ. She has a stellar reputation for being reliable and a hard worker. Her spokesperson Ross Torossian said she fainted because of dehydration, but is okay and will be right back at it tomorrow.

“(She is) on her way home for a good day and night of sleep. She has been examined by medical professionals and is well. She is ok and will continue as shows as planned. She will address this on-air tomorrow,” Torossian said. “She has never missed a day of work and is looking forward on November 13th to her 1500th show.”

FDNY was called and arrived at the studio where the show is filmed around 10:30. She not only returned to film the remainder of the show, but Williams was even spotted dancing with the audience still dressed as the Statue of Liberty.

It’s astonishing that she has never missed a day of work!
