Checking your phone while driving can have disastrous consequences, but none more dangerous than driving into a sinkhole.
In the video below, footage from a Chinese television station shows the middle of a street caved in, creating a gigantic sinkhole along a major section of the road.
Minutes later, a man on a scooter zoomed into view and drove straight into the sinkhole without slowing down at all. The driver and his bike disappeared into the hole.
Why didn’t the man see the hole? He was reportedly checking text messages on his phone and didn’t see the sinkhole in front of him.

Fortunately, the driver was miraculously unhurt, even though the sinkhole appears to be fairly deep.
This should be a huge lesson to all of us. Do not get caught in this situation or it could turn out to be fatal. This young man survived but his ego is probably hurt as this video has gone viral.
