Hurricane Harvey

Hurricane Harvey has become a Category 2 storm as it barrels towards the Texas coast. Officials are warning people to “Get out now,” as massive flooding is expected. Harvey may drop three feet of rain in some areas.

Well before Harvey hits landfall, winds of 40 mph were being reported on shore. It is expected the hurricane will bring winds upward of 125 mph and 12-foot storm surges.

NOAA Hurricane Hunters flew into the eye of the storm. Video of that flight has been released and can be viewed below.

Corpus Christi is in the path of the hurricane. People there are leaving as the area braces for the first hurricane to hit Texas since 2008. It will hit landfall there “in a major way.” 12-foot storm fronts are nothing to stick around for.

A local news report from Corpus Christi regarding evacuation and current weather conditions can be seen below.

President Trump is monitoring the situation and staying in touch with Texas Governor Greg Abbott and Louisiana Governor John Bel Edwards.
