Words can be powerful, particularly words that are said to a child. They can shape lifelong perceptions about a person.
A woman named Holly, who is a gate guard at a Destin, Florida plantation, was very much affected by her dad’s words. He told her women have to have long hair to be beautiful. She responded by always keeping her hair very long, but this didn’t make Holly feel glamorous.
With her wedding approaching, she wanted a transformation. She went to Avant Garde Salon for a complete overhaul of her look. Her colorist, Sara Pestella, and hair stylist, Jeremy Hartfield, worked for seven hours to give Holly a stunning haircut that completely changed how she felt about her looks. This is a very dramatic makeover!
As you can see, Holly’s hair was incredibly long and the color needed to be evened out.
Jeremy first cut off over two feet of Holly’s hair prior to Sara working her magic.
Pestella used a four-step process to color Holly’s hair. This actually took several hours, but the results are unbelievable.
Ditching the long hair helped boost her confidence. “Holly feels beautiful in her own skin,” Pestella reported.
Holly looks almost unrecognizable in her before and after pictures! She could blend right in on Rodeo Drive! It’s amazing how a cut and color can change someone so drastically.
The process was much more time consuming, given the condition and length of Holly’s hair. But, it will work out for her in the long run as she was given a terrific gift by the salon.
“I started at 7 p.m. and finished at 2 a.m.,” Pestella said. “No kidding this transformation was indeed overnight. Thanks to our amazing owners Deke and Joseph she gets to maintain her look for a whole year, free of charge!”
