Did Rivalry With Brock Lesnar Make Samoa Joe the New Top Standard?

Despite not looking forward to Great Balls of Fire, I loved the match between Brock Lesnar and Samoa Joe. I was not surprised about Lesnar’s performance but pleasantly surprised with Joe’s performance.

Establishing Himself as a Top Star!

When Samoa Joe came up from NXT, a lot of people were worried he would get lost in the crowd. His mid-card status seemed like a possibility because, until the pay-per-view match with Lesnar, Samoa Joe got lost in the mix a little.

The real talent of Samoa Joe came to light before the pay-per-view, because Joe shot promo’s that put Heyman to shame. Thanks to these promos, I bothered watching the match, even though I knew beforehand Joe was going to lose.

Lesnar Does Not Like to Plan Matches

Lesnar does not like to plan matches, a fact that has been widely discussed by WWE superstars who had to face him; this includes Dean Ambrose and Roman Reigns.

Since Lesnar does not like to plan matches, the expectations for the match between him and Joe were not that high. However, despite not planning the match, Joe’s talent made even paper champion Lesnar look good.

Still, Joe has also spoken out about the fact that Lesnar does not like to plan matches; this also adds to the stories circulating about Lesnar in the locker room.

Here is what Joe had to say about Lesnar:

“Not a lot of people get into Brock Lesnar like I did. Brock is every bit as intimidating as you’d imagine he would be times two. No, I mean, he’s a shaved gorilla. It’s just he’s stronger than strong. I don’t even think he even realizes how strong he is. I mean, he [has] got great control, but he is The Beast. He’s a big dude.

“When you’re going in there and you’re going to get into it with Brock. Brock isn’t going to work on a lot of stuff; he’s going to want to go out there and he’s going to want to get down, so like Brock’s not a preplanned dude at all, man, so you’ve just got to go out there and do it. For some people it trips them out, but for me, I’m like, ‘if we’re going to scrap, we’re going to scrap.’”

Could Samoa Joe Become a Headliner for SmackDown?

Samoa Joe has caught the attention of the WWE Universe, but also of WWE management! There are currently some rumours that Samoa Joe might be transferred to SmackDown with the next draft and revitalise the current SmackDown roster.

I must admit, a move of Samoa Joe from RAW to Smackdown is not that bad. Not only can the attention be fully on Joe, but he could also add a lot more star power to the SmackDown roster.

What do you think about Samoa Joe at the moment? What would you think about a move from the RAW to the SmackDown roster? Let us know your unsalted opinion below!
