Following allegations of domestic abuse from the both police and the family of Paige his fiance, it was only a matter of time before Global Force Wrestling (the new name for TNA/Impact) would have to make a decision about what to do with their troubled champion, Alberto El Parton.

GFW said they were investigating the matter and would determine actions after that. The story didn’t get any better for Patron or GFW and the 2nd largest wrestling promotion in the US just made an announcement about that will have a big Impact.

Global Force Wrestling has indefinitely suspended Alberto El Patron, effective immediately, until the investigation is resolved following a recent incident in Orlando, Florida.

***UPDATE 7/30***

Even though Patron is no longer a suspect of the Orlando Police, he is still suspended pending a full investigation from Anthem, the company that owns GFW/Impact.

According to PWI, Patron’s suspension will be lifted in time for the GFW/Impact “Destination X” special taking place on August 17th.

What Led to Patron’s Suspension

Following an incident at the Orlando Airport, Patron was detained by police under suspicion of “Domestic battery violence.” While Paige initially tried to downplay the issue, witnesses and then Paige’s family claimed that Patron was abusive both verbally and physically towards the WWE female superstar.

Roy shared more on FB, via ProWrestlingSheet.

… and in the comments wrote, “We got pics from the last 6 months bro of her beating I’m glad she’s finally sticking up for yourself..the reason there fighting yesterday is cause my uncle on his last legs in hospital and he wished him dead.”

This is in-line partially with what Paige said about the incident. She did mention being upset with a family issue but blamed the conflict on a fan demanding a picture.

A Toxic Relationship

There are two sides to every story, but I am leaning towards believing the Bevis family. They have nothing to gain from getting Paige out of this relationship, so I don’t suspect they are lying. It is clear that Paige and Del Rio are not good together and need to be separated. I am not going to speak to why Paige felt the need to defend Del Rio. I’m not a relationship expert, and neither are any of the other commentators on this situation.

All we know is what we’ve seen and heard. This is not the first time Paige and El Patron have had the police called on them. Even when they were in WWE, police had to assist Paige after an altercation with Del Rio.
