Al Snow Describes Why He Left GFW/Impact Wrestling

Just last month it was reported that former WWE Cruiserweight champ and TNA producer Hurricane Shane Helms had left TNA/GFW/Impact Wrestling. Also leaving that day was former WWF Hardcore champion Al Snow, who was also a producer. Snow worked with TNA for nearly a decade, mostly as a behind-the-scenes guy but occasionally he would wrestle. In a recent Sportskeeda interview, Snow revealed the reason behind leaving GFW.

It was just a matter of finances. They have only a certain number of spots for agents/producers and Jeff Jarrett brought in several new guys. And to make room for the new guys, the older crew had to go.

So, you know, it’s just how wrestling works. Whenever you are in any company or organisation it’s about when it’s going to come to an end, not if it’s going to come to an end. I had a wonderful time there and wish them nothing but the best for the future. Maybe one day I’ll be able to go back and continue to do business with them again.

Snows Thoughts on Impact and Wrestling’s Future

Throughout the interview, Snow seemed a lot more gracious about his time with the company than Helms. He also made a good point about how more wrestling promotions doing well is better for wrestling.

I think the more that wrestling has alternatives, it has competition, it will not only survive but thrive. I not only want to see Impact Wrestling survive but thrive and become very successful.

Great. Love seeing a guy leave a company on good terms. Al Snow has been in wrestling for a few decades.

He was a big player when wrestling was at its height. He knows what it takes for it to be successful.
