The Fourth of July is right around the corner, and no Independence Day celebration is complete without a spectacular fireworks display.

From sea to shining sea, here are eight of the best fireworks shows in the country.

Minneapolis

Minneapolis’s Red, White, and Boom festival is one of the largest Independence Day celebrations in the nation. The two-day festival draws more than 75,000 people to the downtown riverfront ever single year for live music, family entertainment, and, of course, fireworks.

Addison, Texas

Addison, Texas, plays host to Kaboom Town, the largest fireworks display in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. Featuring more than 1,500 pounds of fireworks, the American Pyrotechnics Association has recognized the event as one of the top 10 fireworks displays in the country.

Boston

Over on the East Coast, the annual Boston Pops Fireworks Spectacular attracts more than 500,000 people to the Charles River Esplanade. Take note, though: Locals swear that the best place to watch the fireworks show is actually across the river in Cambridge, Mass.

Houston

Houston’s “Freedom Over Texas” is America’s largest land-based fireworks show.

Nashville

If you love music, Nashville is the place to be on July 4th. The city’s annual Music City July 4th: Let Freedom Sing celebration features performances by A-list country artists and a huge 27-minute fireworks show choreographed to a live performance by the Nashville Symphony.

New York City

What would this list be without including the Big Apple’s fireworks spectacular? The annual Macy’s 4th of July Fireworks show is America’s largest pyrotechnic show, with fireworks shot from multiple barges along the East River.

Pasadena, California

Pasadena’s AmericaFest will celebrate its 90th year this July at the Rose Bowl Stadium, and is Southern California’s largest fireworks show.

Denver

Last but certainly not least, Denver does it a bit differently by holding their July 4th celebration one day early on July 3rd. The Independence Eve celebration in Civic Center Park overlooks the Denver City and County Building and attracts revelers from all over Colorado.
