Alan Jackson

Country music legend Alan Jackson lost his trusted four legged companion, Opie, on Friday. Opie was Jackson’s West Highland White Terrier who had been with Jackson for 15 and 1/2 years.

Jackson announced the death of Opie in a touching Facebook post where he remembered Opie saying, “We lost our beloved Westie Opie today. He gave us 15 1/2 years of joy and unconditional love. We know you’re chasin’ birds & squirrels with Buddy and Goldie now! RIP Opie Taylor Jackson.”

A number of Jackson’s fans expressed their sympathy.

I’m sure Alan Jackson is remembering all the great and funny memories he had with Opie. Even some of the more troublesome moments might stand out as great memories now!

I know it can be tough to get over the loss of a beloved pet. I don’t know what I would do without my trusty pit bull Stella.

After 15 years, Alan must definitely be missing his beloved Opie.
