Tom Brokaw Silenced Andrea Mitchell When She Compared James Comey’s Firing To Watergate

Veteran reporter Tom Brokaw covered Watergate. So, when MSNBC’s Andrea Mitchell attempted to compare Donald Trump’s firing of FBI Director Jim Comey to Watergate, Brokaw stopped her in her tracks.

Mitchell opened the interview with Brokaw with a Watergate comparison. Before Brokaw even said a word, his body language showed that he disagreed as he kept his eyes down.

Brokaw then replied that he didn’t know anyone who thought Jim Comey was doing a good job, so this isn’t a scandal of any sort. He also took the media to task for overreacting and painting an analogy that wasn’t based on facts.

“One of the things that I learned during Watergate … is that we dealt with it every day on a factual basis. There was not a lot of speculation. Now, of course, the media landscape has changed a lot, and we have that going on 24/7,” Brokaw responded.

“I do think, however, that all of us as reporters … have to take a deep breath and say let’s deal with the facts as we know them at this point,” he continued in the video below.

Most members of the media are so blinded by their Trump hatred that they can’t separate facts from their own narrative. I’m glad to see Tom Brokaw set Andrea straight on this!
